he Panasonic Lumix LZ40 features a 42x optical zoom lens, equivalent to 22-924mm in 35mm terms, and behind that is a 20 megapixel CCD sensor for high resolution photos. The camera has a mode dial on top with a dedicated manual mode for the more advanced photographers who want more control over shooting settings.
The LZ40 features full manual control as well as Intelligent Auto settings, which include Face Detection, Intelligent Scene Selector and Intelligent Exposure – allowing you to shoot without having to worry about adjusting settings when conditions change. The camera also features 15 filters, including Soft Focus, Miniature Effect and Sepia, making it easy to personalise your shots.
The camera has an ergonomic design to aid holding the camera steady when using the optical zoom, and the lens features built in optical image stabilisation. On the rear is a 3inch screen with a 460k dot resolution.
